The Story Isn’t Over Yet – Jeremy Chase

If time would tell me the secret of my story
Would I listen. Would I even want to?
If my life were a book, would I want to take a look
at the ending just to see what I’d do?
I like a little mystery,
Throw in some what-if’s with my meant-to-be’s.
The story’s best when you’ve got to wait to see.
I don’t want to hold back fate
just ‘cause I don’t really want to wait.
Who am I to deny destiny?
If the universe were mine,
if I had the keys to unlock time
I wouldn’t take them! Wouldn’t make them mine.
Some of life’s lessons are keeping me guessing
sometimes it’s nice to take the long way home
If we’ve all tried, and we’ve all failed,
well maybe the quest is the holy grail
All I know so far is I don’t really want to know
Every story’s got its bumps in the road,
that’s just the way the story goes.
Don’t write it off before it’s done.
You don’t know what can be
if you just believe
The story isn’t over yet.
The plot is hardly even set.
I’ve got a feeling the best is yet to come
I don’t really need to wait and see,
I’m just going to believe
a happy ending is written for me
I know a happy ending is written for me
